A little bit about GHF

Our story:

Gifted Homeschoolers Forum sprung nearly two decades ago from the collective fever dream of a handful of tired, frustrated and perpetually misunderstood moms who mobilized to support gifted and 2e families like their own: parents who, after trying everything to make it work within the mainstream education system, felt they had no choice but to homeschool. They applied their pioneering efforts to both their children’s learning and their own, becoming the experts they needed, and attracting professionals with great ideas and passion. This group of thinkers, feelers and doers evolved into our GHF.

What we do & who we serve:

GHF is a non-profit organization that builds community and support infrastructure for gifted, 2e, and 3e families in which to fashion their best education possible and get the crucial sense of belonging necessary for everyone to thrive. We build programs in partnership with our community of families and the professionals who support these families.

We believe that whether a gifted family traditionally homeschools, sends kids to brick-and-mortar K-12, or anything in between, in some way or another they all “home educate.” That may look like enrichment and extracurriculars, dedicated library days, finding alternative social opportunities, clubs, specialized schools - the imagination is the limit. Thanks to so much groundwork having been laid toward building awareness, advocacy and expertise, gifted families now have a wealth of tools, and often need help to wield them. That’s where we come in.

Mission Statement

To empower every gifted family to make strategic, proactive, and intentional educational choices.

Vision

A diverse world of multi-generational families, educators, and professionals supporting each other through community, education, and creating content relating to gifted home education.

Values

GHF values the uniqueness and humanity of each person in our community. We treat each other with love and kindness and particularly abhor bullying and negativity of any kind. We accept that it is our job to examine each day with a fresh perspective and continue to improve the organization to pursue our mission.
